TOSCA has been making inroads into the datacenter and it’s high time we asked of it to take us all the way. Originally, it was aimed at deploying on-top-of-the-cloud workloads with the Simple Profile. Then the Simple Profile for NFV was introduced for modeling network services, again on-top-of-the-cloud. But what about the infrastructure? And how does networking fit in there, as a part-of-the-infrastructure workload? In this presentation we’ll show how it’s possible to use the full potential of TOSCA’s object-oriented paradigm and its substitution feature to compose coherent topologies from hardware to networks to applications. This will allow for a more integrated and more manageable datacenter architecture, ready to tackle the ever increasing complexity of our cloud use cases.
