USAID Development Principles require open source and open innovation, creating financial advances critical to the wellbeing of all. Technology such as Mojaloop is being deployed to accelerate Financial inclusion in Africa, with 400M people impacted by the end of 2021. This open source tool is now being scaled out across the rest of the world.Mojaloop with a Central Bank and Major JV case study show an Open Source Real time Payments Switch, leveraging Kubernetes to support cloud agnostic or native deployments.Enhanced functionality supports interoperability allowing expensive and complicated systems to be connected cost effectively as well as supporting new entrants connecting to legacy systems.Driving down the cost of services through Mojaloop, as well as further advanced products deployed through Kubernetes, ModusBox is addressing the needs of 1.7Bn unbanked people.
