If you’d like to connect with fellow attendees and hear ideas for supporting diversity in the tech community, join us for a networking luncheon on Wednesday. In addition to time for conversation with fellow attendees, this lunch will feature a brief presentation: Being intentional with diversity and inclusion [Watch it here.] Reshama Shaikh is a freelance data scientist and statistician with skills in Python, R, and SAS. She began her statistical career at Educational Testing Service and then worked for over 10 years as a biostatistician in the pharmaceutical industry at PPD, Merck, Thomas Jefferson University, and Pfizer, covering Phase I through Phase 4 clinical trials. She also taught math and statistics for two years at Temple University. Reshama is an organizer of the meetups NYC Women in Machine Learning & Data Science and NYC PyLadies. She holds an MS in statistics from Rutgers University and an MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business, where she studied strategy, business analytics, and technology management. Host Suzanne Axtell has worn many hats during her 19 years at O’Reilly. She’s currently the project manager for the conference websites, leads diversity and inclusion initiatives, and is on a mission to help bring more diverse speakers and participants to O’Reilly tech events. This event is open to all attendees with a Platinum, Gold, Silver, or Bronze pass—there’s no need to RSVP. We’ll see you there.
