Network slicing enables network operators to meet the requirements of vertical industries by providing portions of their networks for specific purposes and/or customers. This session exposes the design, onboarding, instantiation and distribution of a fully virtualized end-to-end 5G network slice with of ONAP (Open Network Automation Platform). The on-boarded network slice concretely represents a private, customized and independent 5G mobile network and involves both core and radio-access functions. The exposed network slice is based on a complete separation of the data- and control-plane as recommended by 3GPP.The achieved results not only make true NFV and 5G promises, notably those referring to on-demand networks, service customization and time-to-market acceleration, but moreover they open the door to the deployment of private/tailored cloud-native 5G networks.
