Samsung SDS has developed and verified the second layer scaling technology for the performance of Hyperledger Fabric, called “Accelerator”. Accelerator, open sourced in July 2019, is designed to be plugged into the existing Hyperledger Fabric networks with the minimum modification on the application, while it boosts the entire performance up to 10x. The motivation why we develop Accelerator is because, when bringing the enterprise blockchain technology to the real businesses inside and outside of Samsung, we have faced the various situations where the expected amount of influx data is massive. In this presentation, we are going to describe (i) the design of Accelerator, (ii) the evaluation results, and most importantly, (iii) cases of real business applications with Accelerator and its benefits that users experience. Along the way, feedback from business sides will be given too.
