Infrastructure monitoring is very important for high availability of services in NFV. The OPNFV Barometer project concentrates on NFV’s metric monitoring requirements. The Barometer project provides a data collection container, which supports various metrics with collectd, open source metrics collector. Meanwhile, telecom operators have additional requirements for fault management (FM). FM requires scalability of collecting and analyzing metrics along with predictive error analysis. For the above requirements, Japanese telecom operators and vendors started the project called DMA (distributed monitoring and analysis) and began collaborating with Barometer. We come up with the manager for the metric collector, local-agent interworking with barometer collectd, as a result of the collaboration. In this presentation, we will share the above experiments and use-cases.
