Open source has been a fundamental strategy for technology collaboration and innovation at Huawei. Huawei has been playing a significant role in contributing to many projects in the entire open source technology stack, from OpenStack Nova and Neutron to container engines and orchestration, to the microservice framework and big data query engine. Ying Xiong explains how Huawei collaborates with industry leaders and innovates together through open source projects like Kubernetes and Kata Container at CNCF and the OpenLab project at OpenStack. Ying talks about the open source projects initiated by Huawei and their innovations—a container storage project (OpenSDS), a microservice framework project (ServiceComb), and a big data project (CarbonData) in Apache—and shares Huawei’s experience and some customer use cases in using open source technologies. This keynote is sponsored by Huawei.
