LINX has recently updated the one of its London Exchanges, moving to a disaggregated (white-box) network using EVPN over VXLAN network. We believe we are the first IXP to deploy the combination of technologies at scale. The project involved taking the concepts, and the technologies as pioneered by the large scale data-centers, and adapting it to a service provider environment, and adding IXP specific features. The focus of the presentations is what challenges we faced, which technologies and compromises we chose, and why.
