Testing embedded Linux system becomes more challenging when the system is gradually evolving up in its development roadmap. The starting point might be smoke tests (build and boot), then functional tests (device drivers, middleware stack), then the more complex system testing requirements like vehicle infotainment, multi-camera system, etc. Eventually, an efficient test automation system becomes one of the critical indices to optimize the development efforts and guarantee the features-per-milestone as well as the stability of all software release cycles. In this presentation, Khiem describes the experiences of integrating the available community solutions as well as developing the lacking features, in order to realize the flexible test automation solution for Renesas. He intends to give some proposals to reduce the compatibility issues in future.
