Ignite talks are 5 minutes long with slides that automatically advance every 15 seconds. Coincidentally, 17 slides (+3 for introduction and conclusion) is the number of steps required to secure an organization’s DNS infrastructure. In this short, but information filled, presentation I will walk attendees through: securely registering a domain name, adding two factor authentication, setting up multiple authoritative DNS servers, delegating DNS roles, testing the security of their DNS infrastructure, monitoring DNS traffic and alerting on and reacting to DNS security events. The goal of the talk is to provide a concise practical guide that attendees can take back to their organization to ensure they are maximizing the security of their DNS infrastructure.
