Kubernetes can manage petabytes of storage, terabytes of memory, teraflops of compute, and a plethora of hardware devices. In this talk, the speaker will present the architectural principles behind how kubernetes manages these resources at scale. This talk will answer questions like “should compute reside alongside storage”, or “how much network bandwidth is necessary”, or “how to improve utilization”. The speaker will present key features in Kubernetes that allows for managing clusters with large amounts of compute. This talk will present tradeoffs to consider while building kubernetes clusters and application that run in it.
