DNS-OARC regularly co-locates its Domain Name Systems Operations Workshops with NANOG, and is doing so again in San Jose immediately before NANOG71. The impact of DNS operational practice, infrastructure and abuse is fundamental to Internet Operations, yet often arcane and poorly understood. OARC seeks to bridge this gap through knowledge sharing, data gathering/analysis, community building, and outreach.
This talk will give an introduction and summary for the wider NANOG audience of the latest DNS material freshly presented at OARC27. The exact details and content will be determined as the OARC27 Agenda firms up (see https://indico.dns-oarc.net/event/27/call-for-abstracts/
- planned publication date 11th August), but will include a pick of the best new DNS technology deployment experiences, best practices, data, and analysis, with pointers to sources of further information.
OARC27 abstracts submitted to date include DNS IPv6 migration, the 2017 Root DNSSEC Key rollover, resolver experiments & analysis and testing tools. For a sample of the type of material that will be overviewed, please see the similar presentation given at NANOG68 in Dallas: https://www.nanog.org/meetings/abstract?id=2953
