Not all architecture-relevant decisions are made by architects. Describing software or IT architectures and effectively communicating about architecture to (business) stakeholders is a relevant and important skill, but communicating (about) architecture is hard, especially to nontechnical stakeholders. Jochem Schulenklopper and Hans-Jürgen Jacobs demonstrate how to (visually) communicate architecture to non-IT stakeholders, sharing relevant theories, techniques, and examples for creating architecture visualizations that are attractive, informative, and easier to understand. You’ll then apply your newly gained knowledge in an interactive, small-group workshop using a prepared case. You’ll visualize architectural analyses, opinions, or advice, offer possible solutions or migrations, and present your work to non-IT stakeholders. Jochem and Hans-Jürgen then conclude with a review of the visualizations and a reflection on the process creating those visualizations.
